Upon completion of processing and verifying exam candidacy, NBC-HIS will contact the exam candidate with a link to the Webassessor platform for candidates to schedule their exam session. An exam confirmation notice will be emailed to the exam candidate immediately following exam registration.

The exam candidate must present the exam confirmation notice to the exam proctor at the exam site on the day of the scheduled exam. An NBC-HIS examination application will remain valid for two years from the initial exam date. In the case that an exam candidate does not pass the National Competency Exam within two years from the initial exam date, he/she must submit a new application for approval and will be required to pay the examination fee.

NBC-HIS is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”) and the Accessible Canada Act (ACA). To request accommodations, please download, complete, and return this form: “Candidate Accommodation Request Form.” If you prefer, you may contact NBC-HIS at info@nbc-his.com for the form.

You must submit the completed request form along with the required supporting documentation prior to scheduling an exam appointment.

NBC-HIS will conduct an individualized assessment of each request for accommodation based upon the documentation submitted by the candidate in accordance with the Candidate Accommodation Request Form requirements. The accommodation assessment period is typically thirty (30) days. Upon completing the assessment, NBC-HIS will notify the candidate whether the accommodation request has been approved or denied. If approved, the candidate will then receive scheduling assistance from NBC-HIS staff.

Under the ADA and the ACA, NBC-HIS is not required to provide accommodations that would fundamentally alter what the exam is intended to test, jeopardize exam security, or result in an undue burden.
