Hearing Healthcare Professional

Since 1981, we set the benchmark for standardized tests for measuring the competency of hearing healthcare professionals. Ours is the only board certification program in hearing instrument sciences accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). On January 29, 2020, the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) granted reaccreditation to the NBC-HIS organization and the BC-HIS certification program for demonstrating compliance with the NCCA Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs. NCCA is the accrediting body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence. The NCCA Standards were created in 1977 and updated in 2014 to ensure certification programs adhere to modern standards of practice for the certification industry. NBC-HIS joins an elite group of more than 130 organizations representing over 315 programs that have received and maintained NCCA accreditation. Over the years we have expanded internationally with affiliates in Australia, Bahrain, Canada, England, Ireland, Israel, Lebanon, Mexico, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, and the United Arab Emirates. NBC-HIS board certification is the recognized international competency standard.
